Spring vs Pez
This collaboration betwen the French band and the Spanish musician and Dj sent SPRING directly to international pop stardom. Dance pop has hardly ever sounded so natural and cosmopolitan, samplers and guitars have rarely gone together so well, and -above all- the songs are simply gorgeous. The six tracks of this record were subsequently included in 'Spring and friends' compilation, released in Europe by Bungalow, and in Japan through Tokuma. A real must. Spring vs Indurain
Even before releasing their first album, French band SPRING wanted to make sure they were a multiple-sided band. They were acoustic and understated most of the times, but they could also turn into something dancey and electronic as well. So they recorded this single with INDURAIN (band formed by Dj-remixer Jerome Mestre and Marc Collin, which later on would change their name into OLLANO) and EXTRA LUCID (another moniker of Mestre). The result could easily overshadow ST ETIENNE.

Their very first single, released shortly after of including a song in Bob Stanley’s “We Are Icerink” compilation. Their influences range from THE SUPREMES to CODEINE, from the VELVETs to FELT, passing through DUSTY SPRINGFIELD, FALL, TIM HARDIN, NICK DRAKE, Françoise Hardy, FAMILY or 4AD. Everything that surrounds love, dreams, romanticism, eternal atmospheres... Thomas Bangalter (now of DAFT PUNK fame) played keyboards and engineered on this single. A collectors’!
