Spring vs Pez
This collaboration betwen the French band and the Spanish musician and Dj sent SPRING directly to international pop stardom. Dance pop has hardly ever sounded so natural and cosmopolitan, samplers and guitars have rarely gone together so well, and -above all- the songs are simply gorgeous. The six tracks of this record were subsequently included in 'Spring and friends' compilation, released in Europe by Bungalow, and in Japan through Tokuma. A real must. And don't miss the white vinyl ten inch version, it's cooler than cool!

Hailing from Montpellier, this duo has achieved what seemed impossible: to play dance music with rock instruments. Jerome Mestre is a Parisian DJ who had already remixed LE MANS and SPRING, and here presents us his own compositions: artcore, drum'n'bass and ambient winks. Chief of the Artefact label, he's one of the pioneers of the so-called French Groove.

This is the remixes record featuring some of the best and riskier acts in present day electronics: AUTECHRE, SEEFEEL, SCANNER, SCORN and LOCUST are the chosen ones to remix songs from SILVANIA's first two albums: 'En Cielo De Océano' (1993) and 'Paisaje III' (1994). Aside from the remixes, the record includes three previously unreleased tracks by the duo.

The title track is a prodigious instrumental song that starts with classic nylon strings guitar by Ibon Errazkin, and gets thicker and thicker till reaching something close to the best music produced by Mo' Wax or Ninja Tune, but with an undeniable personal touch. You can also find here a remix of 'Lucien' (a song from LE MANS' 'Saudade' album) by INSTRÜMENTAL, plus a heartfelt cover version of basque folk singer-songwriter Mikel Laboa.
