7” singles are an endangered format, but especially close for people like us, addicted to the creaking and warmth of the groove and the needle. It's becoming more and more difficult to maintain their manufacture, being the situation aggravated by the impossibility of finding this format in most of the shops, seeing no profitability in such select and expensive format.
But in Elefant we have and shall always commit ourselves to these little vinyl records that have been over the years the best way to make new bands known, and all of them will join to the list of the most prized possessions in our member's collections. All our singles have a small hole, are pressed in coloured vinyl, wrapped up in gorgeous colours, and contain exclusive songs that will delight all the lovers of fine eternal pop. We manufacture our seven inches at the Czech Republic, where a well-finished product is ensured, with excellent pressing and sound.
A prove of this was our exclusive Singles Club, created in the beginning of 1996.
From 1996 to 2000 were released 12 singles a year (except in 2001, when we reduced the delivery to 9 singles), and from all of them you have the corresponding information in this section. Most of the singles we released were limited edition singles. In fact, most of these singles are not available any more, and will not be re-released again, and there are very few copies of the remaining.
In our Club we mixed renowned bands with cult acts, and even completely new and unknown bands which were Elefant’s own bets. Bands from all over the world provided us with great songs for this project, making Elefant’s Singles Club turn into a mythical collection featuring such names as LAMBCHOP, JACK, GONZALES, CRANES, THE CLIENTELE, SALAKO, THE LADYBUG TRANSISTOR, BMX BANDITS, FRANK BLAKE (special one-off collaboration between Francis McDonald and Norman Blake from TEENAGE FANCLUB), QUICKSPACE, GODSTAR, THE FRANK AND WALTERS, SING SING, ISAN, LOS FRESONES REBELDES, MIGALA... The list is long and full of little jewels of international pop, all exclusive and in glorious 7” vinyl. A dream for any pop aficionado.
