The Frankenbooties

Manel: guitar, vocals
Xisco: bass
Joan: drums
Miquel: guitar

This band from Majorca starts under the name of DIRTY BOOTS, as the SONIC YOUTH classic. Their first songs would appear in an 1993 RCA/BMG Ariola compilation called “La única alternativa”. The same year brings their first EP for Elefant: “Frankenbootie” contains four songs deeply influenced by PIXIES, SONIC YOUTH, PAVEMENT, SEBADOH... but also THE BEATLES or even THE SHADOWS.

They tour the country to promote the album (“Frankenbootie tour”). This same year the band would change its name , taking the title of their first single. 1994 brings the only album released by the band, entitled “Gobbledegook”, containing songs like “Kill John Wayne”, “Why is soul so heavy?” or “My little hurricane”.

The band splits shortly after. Some of its members would reappear as THE ZINEDINES. Joan Vich has collaborated with PATRULLERO MANCUSO in the album “Bodegón musical” and with SPRING in “The last goodbye”.
