JAB-032 Klaus & Kinski "Por qué no me das tu dinero"

  5€  [CD-Single]

After their resounding success with “Tu hoguera está ardiendo”, their debut album,KLAUS & KINSKI add fuel to the fire with this 5 songs new CD, that will reassert the identity signs (from MY BLOODY VALENTINE or STEREOLAB, to THE BEATLES and LOS PANCHOS) that made them obtain the title of breakthrough group of the year. Besides the hit song “Nunca estás a la altura”, this mini CD includes four unpublished songs, known by veteran fans from the first demos of this group lead by Alex and Marina: "Te vas a enterar", "El mejor idilio", "Shell for the mourning" (cover from Danish group OLIVER NORTH BOY CHOIR) and the song that gives its name to the album, "Por qué no me das tu dinero". True to themselves, KLAUS & KINSKI get consistent again by bringing together different styles at the service of Alex and Marina unique way of understanding pop music. In this occasion, shoegaze (“Nunca estás a la altura”), with a mix of Cuban son and Brazilian bossa (“Te vas a enterar”), 80s pop music (“Por qué no me das tu dinero”) and melodic music (“El mejor idilio”) with kraut rock (“Shell for the mourning”) get together with their ironic and creative lyrics, out of reach for almost everyone else. On the visual side, this mini CD is completed with a multimedia track with the new and amazing video of “Nunca estás a la altura”, directed and produced by Chema García Ibarra.

JAB-2045 Pumuky "El bosque en llamas"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

Drums roll (like in the first song of the album) to announce the release of PUMUKY’s new album, titled "El bosque en llamas". A great work full of wonderful musical corners (some of them secret), of this band from Barcelona, led by Tenerife-born Jaír Ramírez. Pumuky’s second album opens the door to a very personal lyrical and musical universe that he has built after the years. Very unusual melodies and moods make this record particularly distinctive, avoiding easy descriptions like a furtive hunter – we see a similitude, though, with the strange shadows of MIGALA, LAMBCHOP’s bittersweet acoustic tunes and PATRICK WOLFat his most organic. Plus violent electric discharges reminiscent of MOGWAI and a melancholy very close to ELUVIUM, but always in a Pop context. “El bosque en llamas” is made up of 10 songs which show more than ever the variety of registers that PUMUKY is capable of. The album features songs full of energy burstings, like “Tu marca”, followed by mellow melancholic pieces such as "Si desaparezco" or "El Hombre Bosque en llamas". Wild guitars, moving walls of keyboards and punchy beats (often played by two simultaneous drummers) feature in songs like "Lobo estepario contra caballos desbocados" or "La Metamorfosis", which contrast with delicate arrangements and melodies which soothe the unending outbursts of rage. "El bosque en llamas" is a brilliant mixture of different elements, including instrumentals like "El innombrable" or "El exilio de los invisibles", which dynamize the sound of the record and fit perfectly, thanks to the work of Arturo Vaquero, which makes the record a pleasurable listen from beginning to end, and “readable” as a novel – the texts are moving, simple and stark, and give us a glimpse of the obsessions and hopes of the creator. Interestingly, the lyrics show opposing poles too, something that seems inherent to PUMUKY’s vital essence.

JAB-2046 Souvenir "Drums, sex and dance"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

“Drums, Sex and Dance” is the triumphant fifth album of the band made up by Patricia De La Fuente and Jaime Cristobal. “Drums, Sex and Dance” sees SOUVENIR evolving from the most Eighties-oriented aspects of “64” to a palette of sounds which are more punchy and contemporary. The guitars are grittier, the analog synth sounds rawer, and the beats trancier and more upbeat. The result is an exciting cocktail of new rave and 00s electro with punk-rock energy, dance music spirit and twangy guitars, topped by that unstoppable vocal hurricane called Patricia, who after two years touring “64” has become nothing short of a frontgirl, an attractive hybrid of YELLE and Brigitte Bardot whose personality and evolution is conveyed in “Drums, Sex And Dance” perfectly. This leads SOUVENIR into a thrilling new territory somewhere near the cheeky vocals of YELLE or CSS (CANSEI DE SER SEXY) combined with guitar riffs and vintage synths in the style of HOT CHIP or LITTLE BOOTS. But such elements are integrated as part of a multi-faceted project, in which you will still hear Duane Eddy-style guitars, Brigitte Bardot sexiness, and a combination of new wave drums and Roland TR-808 beats added with a pinch of ZX Spectrum bleeps (a regression to a childhood obsession for Jaime, as the Speccy was the first musical ‘instrument’ he ever used). Still, the result is 100% SOUVENIR. Do you need any evidence? Just listen to these songs and you will instantly recognize the band. The sound of SOUVENIR has become unmistakable.

JAB-2044 Klaus & Kinski "Tu hoguera está ardiendo"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

Beyond its sarcastic meaning, “Tu hoguera está ardiendo” (“Your bonfire is on fire”), the début album of KLAUS & KINSKI, the group led by Álex and Marina, is a stunning and full of nuances record, that catches the attention of the listener from the beginning to the end, through its 14 songs (more than an hour long), a perfect description of the wide range of possibilities their repertory has. Influenced by MY BLOODY VALENTINE or STEREOLAB or Stereolab, they don’t feel distant from THE BEATLES and LOS PANCHOS. KLAUS & KINSKI like to be eclectic (that’s what you say when you have no style or personality) covering from bolero to electronic music, bossa-nova, country-folk, melodic Italian songs from the 70s, 80s style, (kind of) standard indie music and even shoegazer. Music and lyrics so full of emotions, common sense and honesty they may seem surprising, full of paths we have all walked around, that they come to look like maps. All that thanks to a personal mix of ingenuity and talent that floods their repertory, mainly pop, with delicacy to a lot of common styles, differing them from the rest of the indie Spanish bands. “Tu hoguera está ardiendo” collects a large part of the known repertory of this band from Murcia through their demos, and provides with two new songs composed for the occasion: “El Cristo del perdón”, opening the album, and “Crucifixión, la solución”.

JAB-2041 Montevideo "Cuando miramos al sur"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

MONTEVIDEO’s second album comprises ten new punchy songs. A collection of memorable and infectious pop songs which are both musically intense and lyrically deep – this has opened up the band’s range and repertoire not just instrumentally (guitars and backing tracks), but also in the composition and arrangements. The previous records had hinted some references and influences that have suddenly bloomed in this one: 80’s techno-pop or 60’s psychedelia give the new songs a colourful atmosphere that lasts for the whole 37 minutes, while retaining at the same time the elegance and sensitivity that Manu and Damiana (with Saúl on guitar) have always displayed in their interplaying boy/girl singing. New issues and sonic textures are approached in the lyrics and arrangements (“Las cosas son así” o “Una ciudad feliz”) while retaining at the same time the brilliance of a well-crafted repertoire.

JAB-030 Souvenir "Extras 64"

  5€  [CD-Single]

It was originally intended to be a single featuring the song “si tu sais pas” (an irresistible techno-pop song that SOUVENIR wrote and recorded after the release of “64”), but it has gradually grown into the CD-Single “Extras 64”, which features two new songs (“si tu sais pas” and a cover version of Blondie’s “hanging on the telephone”), their brand new video for the song “Allô, allô” and three brilliant remixes which take songs from “64” deeper into the dancefloor. SOUVENIR have selected two of their favourite artists for the remixes: Swedish wunderkind Johan Agebjörn (of Sally Shapiro fame) has remixed “Allô, allô” in an elegant eurobeat style and Spanish idiosyncratic singer Miqui Puig has revamped “Une semaine en ballon”. And our own Jaime Cristóbal has done a bombastic remix of “Accident à Londres”.

JAB-2040 Uke "Uke"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

UKE’s new record is like a tiny music box and immerse us straight into a world of fantasy. It transforms our surroundings into a childlike world, just like the toy instruments they have used to produce these 10 new songs. But of course childlike doesn’t mean childish, and the record depicts, in fact, a different way to see reality and a brand new take on naïf music. Infantile melodies which come covered with a veil of mystery, and in some cases become obsessive and enigmatic, like in a dream. UKE’s wonderful unorthodoxy is evident in the record, with saxes, drums, toy accordions, samples of films, recitations, torn newspapers, drink cans and tea mugs used as elements of the music, which also features more traditional elements like electric guitar and bass. We are convinced that this collection of musical pieces, with a prevalence of instrumental songs over vocals, will appeal to almost every taste, like a placid surrealistic trip along a path crammed with magic and dreams, which links UKE with the likes of Pascal Comelade, KLIMPEREI, Vincent Gallo, DON NINO, MI AND l’AU or his contemporary AMIINA, and their comforting musical universe.

ZZZ-002 Little Name "How to swim and live"

  9€  [CD Digipak]

Born and raised in Liverpool and carrying on the the Liverpudlian tradition of great pop music is LITTLE NAME, whose first album, "How To Swim And Live" is out now on Sleepy Records. Bringing the lush sounds of CAMERA OBSCURA and BELLE AND SEBASTIAN, the northern sensibilities of THE SMITHS, and the pop of Bacharach, you would think that this already internationally recognized artist was a not-so-little band, with multiple members and a full orchestra section. However, the brilliant sounds on this CD are the work of just one man, Lee Barker. Underneath the bright indie pop are lyrics which explore ideas of openness and vulnerability, isolation and joy with a wit and humour belying their meaning. After 8 years of isolation through panic attacks, Lee was searching for greater themes, songs that said something, and said something about his life. "How To Swim And Live" was the answer. Themes of unrequited love, lost lives, anxiety, and finding inclusion in life. These are songs to cherish, songs that let you know that someone out there is feeling and struggling with the same things you are.

JAB-2039 Apenino "Un rayo de sol"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

As in previous efforts, “Un rayo de sol” was recorded at home and in Arturo Vaquero’s Abrigueiro studio, and the result is a really special record which becomes almost indispensable at first listen. The songs lead us into a mysterious world, close but inaccesible. In a way, it’s a magical dimension of reality that we can only thoroughly share with the author while the music is playing: electro-acoustic pop (lead mainly by ukuleles and mandolin), woven on a subtle electronic base that incorporates a wide range of arrangements, from the most modest noise to the most spectacular strings section. Some clues for first-comers: APENINO’s sound might be associated to artists such as MÚM, EAST RIVER PIPE, CASIOTONE FOR THE PAINFULLY ALONE, KHONNOR, Patrick Wolf or even Ana D (voice in "El balneario"), to name but a (very idiosyncratic) few. “Un rayo de sol” (“A ray of the Sun”) illuminates all his previous work and does Marco A. Maril (former DAR FUL FUL and factotum of APENINO) justice in the form of 10 brand new songs which come off with an explosive palette of sounds that even the conclusive final track (“Ceremonia de clausura”) can barely contain.

JAB-2038 Nadadora "Hablaremos del miedo"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

NADADORA’s second album is bound to establish them as one of the most important bands in the Spanish independent scene. In their new album NADADORA have managed to refine their style - the songs sound more sparkling and the emotions are more intensely transmitted. The solid foundation of the guitars is still present, as are the breathtaking beat changes which have made this band so singular. Among all this we find melancholy and tranquil moments in which Sara and Gonzálo’s vocals duet masterfully. The result is a record with sharpness and balance, two characteristics which give the listener a broader perception of Gonzálo Abalo’s new compositions and a better understanding of the band’s spirit. Variety is one of the staples of this record, and the band show their improving skills in songwriting, as they move further away from the formula of previous installments: instead of the usual bunch of hit-singles that made up the backbone of their past records, on “Hablaremos de miedo” we do find them too but we also are presented with grower songs were recorded at the galician Circulo Polar studio, and were mastered in New York (West West Side Music) by Alan Douches.

JAB-2037 Souvenir "64"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

“64” is the fourth record in SOUVENIR's career. In a brilliant stylistic twist the band has recorded ten new dance-oriented songs. SOUVENIR have been renowned by their wide variety of musical tastes, so this new direction should not surprise the connaisseurs. As ever, the stylish combination of different elements and influences guarantees an exciting result. Thus, in '64' techno-pop, new wave and 80s dance music have been weaved into a unique tapestry of backing tracks that collide with the elements which have typified the band's sound all these years: Patricia's mellow voice and Jaime's reverb-drenched, surf guitars. “64” is also SOUVENIR’s return to pop, as it features their most catchy, immediate tunes in years, in the tradition of THE HUMAN LEAGUE, Blondie, ETIENNE DAHO, VISAGE, PET SHOP BOYS or Mylène Farmer, but also with a more contemporary resonance that links the band to artists like LADYTRON, THE RAVEONETTES, VIVE LA FÊTE or SAINT ETIENNE. The result is ten floor-fillers with great melodies in the French pop canon but dressed with the best of synth-pop fabrics.

FICD003 The Frank and Walters "A renewed interest in happiness"

  12€  [CD]

"A Renewed Interest In Happiness" is THE FRANK AND WALTERS fifth studio album. Released on the anniversary of their 15th year in music, it encapsulates all that we have come to expect and admire from them. It is probably their finest work. When they needed a gritty location to suit the mood of the songs "Fight" and "Country Boy", Wheatfield prison offered their services. In fact Paul did the vocal takes in a confined room full of inmates. In an interview they mentioned that they wanted to record in a church. Offers flooded in. "Keep the Faith" and "Hold On" were cut in an old Church Of Ireland building in Carrig Na Bhearr, Cork City. This new album is an antidote to the trials and tribulations we all face. Questions and answers beautifully packaged in unforgettably perfect melodies.

JAB-2035 Montevideo "Transoceánico"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

They took off on their airplane (“El avión”, from their debut CD EP “Ella y él”) and now, with "Transoceánico" this first album, they’re bound for new routes, further from the bands they are normally associated to (ASTRUD, CHICO Y CHICA, PARADE, APENINO, ENTRE RÍOS...) and absorbing a new set of influences which include the use of organic textures (guitars, ukuleles, mandolins...) and percussion. This new side of the band has made them approach their South American/River Plate roots. Of which songs like “Candombe” or “Zamba acuática”, are surprising examples. All in all, “Transoceánico” is more than a nice set of pictures taken from far away. In fact, it is a rich collection of songs inspired in carefully-chosen stories, landscapes and themes very personal for the band. This record is a whole, and thus must be listened to grasp Montevideo’s way of understanding pop music. This doesn’t mean it is a difficult album – at first listen, these ten songs in “Transoceánico” will get you hooked. The band’s vocal versatility ensures an unmonotonous experience that not many bands can beat.

JAB-2034 Polar "Surrounded by happiness"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

The fourth POLAR album is able to capture the intensity, the immediacy and the dimension that their guitars reach in their concerts. Almost without 'overdubs', recorded in three days and a half, "Surrounded by happiness" stood by the work at the desk of Matthew Barnhart. This is why "Surrounded by happiness" sound more direct, pure, and resuming, addictive, where POLAR offer more and more faces. And there is the winner ace trio that is "Tell me", "Martin Eden" and "Stuart", a real declaration of intentions starting the record like that. Or, on the other hand, the non less impressive, formed by "A way to forget", "1988" and "Pere i Laia", where the lilting guitars seem to crystalize in any moment. In any case they're still POLAR (and if you let me say it, more than ever) with their unmistakable game of guitars, with the careness of the sound, with the maximum control over musical parameters like dynamics, tension, velocity...

JAB-2036 VV.AA. "Cuentos de Navidad"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

The fourth volume of our “Teoría y Práctica Melódica” series it is dedicated to the most special of topics: Christmas. It features, as usual, most part of the Jabalina roster of artists plus many guests, all of them Spanish, this time. The result compiles much more than just 18 unreleased songs about Christmas: combine Souvenir’s stark-naked gentleness, Astrud’s crude vision, and the meticulous musings of Apenino, Parade or Ama. Or the festive atmosphere of La Casa Azul and La Monja Enana, as opposed to Nadadora and Mirafiori’s introspection. Or the vocal brilliance of Corazón, Color Caramelo de Ron and Underwater Tea Party contrasting with Uke, Raro & Apenino’s ethereal instrumentality. Montevideo, Aldo Linares and Humanoid contribute their delicate electronica while Polar’s buzzing and J’aime acoustic approach bring the record to a spectacular close. To sum up, "Cuentos de Navidad" it’s a treat full of surprises where the listener can find two interesting cover versions (Yoko Ono’s “Listen, the snow is falling” which Nadadora sing in Galician with a Galaxie 500 touch, or José Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad” which La Casa Azul have transformed into this Christmas’ dancefloor hit with a distinctive Boney M flavour) and much more... 01. Souvenir :: "Noël" 02. Nadadora :: "Escoita, a neve cae arredor" 03. Apenino :: "Este reno de los cielos" 04. Mirafiori :: "No podemos volver a casa por Navidad" 05. La Casa Azul :: "Feliz Navidad" 06. La Monja Enana :: "Navidad" 07. Color Caramelo de Ron :: "Up with xmas" 08. Astrud :: "Son los padres" 09. Montevideo :: "Renos en la autopista" 10. Aldo Linares :: "No hay regalos para un fantasma" 11. Parade :: "El visitante" 12. Underwater Tea Party :: "Caught by the 25th" 13. Corazón :: "El regalo" 14. Ama :: "Entre diciembre y enero" 15. Humanoid :: "Adornos rotos" 16. Raro y Apenino :: "Panxoliña para Nuna" 17. Polar :: "Codeine" 18. Uke :: "Nieve" 19. J'aime :: "Christmas without Grant"

AG-1055 Niza "Archivando mis recuerdos"

  6€  [CD Digipak]

Taiwanese label Avant Garden Records releases “Archivando mis recuerdos [1998-2004]”, a compilation as wide as the complete career of NIZA, featuring stops in all the band’s different periods: here we find the duo’s two singles, plus a series of rarities and hard-to-find recordings: new and different versions of songs appeared on the band’s only album; live recordings (acoustic radio sessions, or onstage featuring Guille Milkyway from LA CASA AZUL on the piano, as in their cover of the classic standard “Fly me to the moon”); rarities that only appeared in compilations before (such as “Radio Star”, the song they dedicated to Radio 3’s DJ Juan de Pablos, previously released on the compilation of his show “Flor de Pasión”; and also “Jamás te he olvidado”, a song we had previously released on Elefant’s “Modapop” compilation); cover versions of favourite songs by FAMILY (“Dame estrellas o limones”), French chanteuse and 60’s pop idol Jeanette (“El muchacho de los ojos tristes”) and even THE VELVET UNDERGROUND. A total of eighteen songs which are the perfect companion to go along with the band’s only album, which seemed too short a legacy to many of us.

JAB-2032 Ama "A un metro de mí"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

In their second offering Yon Vidaur, Borja Sánchez, Jon Intxausti and Javier Sánchez (also in LA BUENA VIDA) have embarked on a beautiful journey to further musical territories and they explore and show a brand new panorama. This is, again, a great blend of sensitivity, simplicity and imagination, in the purest AMA style: portraits of daily life situations narrated with a surprising point of view and stuck inside great pop songs which absorb you from the first listen. This is a collection of songs with magic yet sparse arrangements which steady the tunes in a beutiful way. All in all, this is a record like a labyrinth of emotions and true pop to get lost to. From that starting point, the creative process which leads to "A un metro de mí" has been careful, loving, meticulous. The result? Sparse but beautiful arrangements, a step forward from the previous album.

MONTEVIDEO are a pop music twosome (she’s Argentinian, he’s Spanish) with a knack for smart, delicate and evoking electronica and this record is their first offering which collects the best six songs from their previous demos. This have been re-recorded with help from Arturo Vaquero at the production desk (plus extra synthesizers) and Marco Maril Pardo (APENINO) on guitars and mandolin. The final result couldn’t be more brilliant and thrilling, a great blend of spark and melancholia.

JAB-2031 Nadadora "Todo el frío del mundo"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

NADADORA’s first album, is a meticulous record, a work of pop craftmanship in its aim of reaching the best mood for each song. The songs transmit emotion and intensity thanks to their passionate melodies and an infallible formula: guitar-ridden pop in washes of varying intensity, on which the voices of Sara and Gonzálo surf skillfully. Nevertheless, we cannot limit the secret of NADADORA’s charm just to that: the record’s energy and wealth of brilliant arrangements also plays an important part. Because, though it's full of deep feelings of melancholia and spirituality, as songs like “Su primer contacto con el aire”, “Incendio #3” or “Siempre te alejas en las tardes” prove, also exhibit their characteristically infectious touch: “20000 veces”, “Fugaz”…

Among the demos we find the cover versions they did of FAMILY’s “Al otro lado” and ALASKA Y LOS PEGAMOIDES’ “Otra dimensión”. JAB-2030 Souvenir "Des équilibres"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

The third SOUVENIR album is a walk on a tightrope of different styles and moods which has given their tightest, a brilliant collection of songs. Patricia and Jaime’s beautiful sonic landscapes for 2005 are confirmed in these ten gorgeous, optimistic portraits of daily life, in which they drift away from the melancholia of their previous records. This album opens a new musical path for SOUVENIR, in which the piano has been central to the composition of many of these exquisite, sophisticated tunes. The arrangements have been kept simple but brilliant, which has resulted in a classic record in which the elements are at the same time traditional and eccentric. The result is a jovial, playful set of songs in which Patricia’s vocals have reached a high point in her evolution as a singer.

JAB-027 Souvenir "Présage de l'hiver"

  5€  [CD-Single]

"Présage de l'hiver" is no less than an ode to the arrival of winter, which the band display their usual penchant for tasteful melody and Patricia proves that her evolution as a singer has taken her to unexpected heights. The song veers form acoustic textures to electronica elements, in yet another remarkable musical achievement. Complete with beautiful string and brass arrangements with a tinge of John Barry. The other songs (unreleased) in the EP are equally stunning. "Boule de flipper" is a charming cover version of an obscure French 80's hit by Corynne Charby, "La valse des regrets" is a surprising, delicate piece and last but not least, a brand new version of "Des tours pour Audrey", recorded live at Spanish National TV programme.

JAB-2027 Apenino "Bumerán, bumerán"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

The first album by APENINO is a work full of small but beautiful shiny diamonds which make up a brilliant jewel of an album for sensitive hearts and souls in search of beauty among the wreckage of daily life, which Marco A. Maril has reached his maturity. After his first record, the daytime follows the night time in a beautiful panorama we had just guessed about in in his first offering of songs. This album brings on the full picture, complete with all the subtleties and intense colours and beats of a gleeful diamond, of a splendid masterpiece. In this record Marco with kind help from Arturo Vaquero at the desk has brewed again his particular blend of simple ingredients, charming ambience and moving lyrics, enhanced for the occasion with evoking guitars and velvet-like backing vocals, in a very similar path to EAST RIVER PIPE, THE MAGNETIC FIELDS or Ana D.

JAB-2026 Polar "Comes with a smile"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

The band's third album POLAR shows a real step forward, not just because of the quality of the songs, but also thanks to producers Stuart Nicol and Marcus Mackay from Scottish band THE ZEPHYRS. The result is a bright emotional universe which spans the contradiction of feelings, hope and illusion, but always with a genuine approach. Their musical discourse is now richer than ever and even though there is still room for melancholy ("No chances", "Understand"), there are other aspects too: gentle irony, sarcasm ("Surf Song", "Amy Says"), happiness ("Song to Jr & Luna"), and even euphoria ("Home"). Cinematography has its own place on the record, as evident in tracks such as "Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid" and "Paris-Texas".

JAB-024 Apenino "En la hora azul"

APENINO's  music has appeared as water from a source, cascading with beautiful sounds and unending sensibility, after the demise of his previous adventure, DAR FUL FUL. Melodies and lyrics that come from an aim to give life to the smallest, meaningful things. The songs in this record are simple and transparent, a window open to APENINO's magical world of melody and lyrics. Just like one of those stars one sees when looking at the sky at the blue hour inside a toy galaxy, shared with other similar projects such as Ana D, KOMËIT, HARPER LEE or FIELD MICE.

JAB-2022 Souvenir "Recto/Verso"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

What originally had been conceived, in this SOUVENIR's second album, as a collection of songs orbiting around two opposed stylistic poles has ended up being a clever mix of acoustic and electronic, organic and programmed elements. For the first time features some gorgeous string arrangements, plus several other novelty elements: piano, Hammond organ, vibraphone, plus pedal steel guitar... In addition to this, Patricia's vocal performances are nothing short of masterful. No wonder some people have suddenly discovered SOUVENIR walking a very similar path to that of contemporary French melodic 'new wave' of artists (Benjamin Biolay, Keren Ann...).

JAB-2021 Ama "Ama"

  12€  [CD Digipak]

This is the fresh, first result of a brand new project which involves brothers Borja and Javier Sánchez and Gorka Ochoa, members of such lauded bands as DAILY PLANET, LA BUENA VIDA, LE MANS or EL JOVEN BRYAN. Such an impressive CV should be enough to make clear this new band's style is 'pop', a style so wide that permits many variations. Ama's path takes us, on the lyrical side, to a world of shared feelings, an absorbing portrait of situations we can all relate to. Musically, this is a wonderfully subtle, sparse record with just the right amount of arrangements to allow melodies shine on their own.

ANNIKA 001 Mirafiori "Cinco minutos"

  5€  [CD-Single]

MILKYWAY's box of surprises opens at last. There, dozens of recordings made from 1995 until today were waiting for their creator, Guille Milkyway, to unlock the bolt. This absurd wait has had a thrilling ending and now we can enjoy them, realising their greatness, their energy, their beauty and their feeling. MILKYWAY's songs project an extravagant variety of colours. In them, infinity of arrangements paint a complicated baroque production, taking care of every detail. The main motif is MILKYWAY's never-ending universe: crowded with references to softpop, bubblegum, disco music and so many styles of the last four decades as well as to the work of Jeff Lynne, Tore Johanson, Buddah Records or the A&M recordings from the 60s.

"Premier Essai" goes deeper into the band's stylistic quest and at the same time opens new roads. Especially "Premier essai" (the song), show us SOUVENIR at their most stylistically and technologically advanced. The two unreleased tracks on the record are two new nuggets: "Rues arrière" evokes dreamy pop musings and "Une heure du matin" is an instrumental song which echoes the sound of 60's soundtracks. To top it all, Serge Gainsbourg's 'Harley Davidson' is covered here in fierce breakbeat mood to satisfy everyone's appetite.
